Remus liked the Inner Citadel. It was clean, and pristine, and it had the scent of fresh air that you couldn't find elsewhere in Stronghold. He liked being amongst others of his class — people that knew how to dress and accessorize. It's why he spent most of his time in his place of birth, content to live amongst the rich folk and look down upon those that were much less fortunate. After all, it wasn't like they would be making their way inside the Inner Citadel anytime soon, to spend what little money they have on slots and blackjack. Therefore: they were useless to him.

Yet... Sometimes, Remus simply couldn't find anything entertaining to do in the rich district. Ironic, considering they had the most free time on their hands to partake in the entertainment the Military had lined up for them. But sometimes that entertainment was just a little too perfect — the clubs simply too pristine, no excitement or adventure. It was times like this that Remus finally admitted to himself he needed a little something more in his life, and decided to dip his toes in the shallow end of the pool for a bit.

Which is how the extravagant man found himself in a higher-end club in the commercial district's Night Forum. "Higher end", even if it would never match up to the clubs found in the Inner Citadel. No matter. The bartenders seemed to be insistent on keeping his wine glass full, and that was all that Remus needed to be happy. A simple man, no?

"Oi, I have something I think you'll like. Well— more like someone you'll like," the man next to Remus slurs with a grin, looking behind the two of them to wave someone over. Remus had already made himself a couple of friends in the short amount of time he'd been in the club — well, as much as the Diamonds Queen could make friends. More like acquaintances with obvious benefits. It makes Remus grin.

"I love surprises!" Remus exclaims with a laugh, closing his eyes and making a big production over waiting to see who his 'friend' was waving over. "I do hope you have good taste," Remus laughs, just a small hint of a threat in his laughter that wouldn't be noticed by many. While he was currently playing along with the joke, he wouldn't be very impressed if it turned out to be some kind of poor joke meant to pull the wool over the newbie's eyes. It only took a second for the good-natured man to turn evil, and he didn't want that. Not on his very rare adventure to the poorer districts of Stronghold!
NOTES Marked as mature because who knows what will go down xD

A long day of paperwork made the devil want to come out and play, and North knew exactly the place he could go to blow off some steam. He'd been there a few times before, a place that stood out amongst the drab and dark colours of Stronghold with its signature bright red door. A place that, while portrayed as a very upscale place, welcomed everyone, even those that did not have a place amongst the rich and famous in the Inner Citadel. A place that North had grown accustomed to, with its eccentric decorations and even stranger themed nights. Tonight was one that North rather fancied, even though as a human he'd never really been into the whole idea of dressing up.

Vampire Night, a time when people dressed in what they assumed vampires from literature looked like. Of course with libraries being destroyed during the outbreak and the internet lost to the masses, things got a bit... Skewed in terms of realistic portrayal. The irony of the entire theme wasn't lost on anyone, and the Military in particular wasn't exactly fond of civilians walking around with fake teeth for obvious reasons. But the eccentric nature of costumes often made them look the other way, and it made no difference to North personally.

He rather enjoyed the audacity of it all.

Dressed up in a more typical Victorian-esque outfit (minus the ridiculous top hat and glasses), North arrives at the destination fashionably late. He liked getting to a place after the party was already underway — the monster wasn't afraid to admit he enjoyed slightly inebriated humans.

North goes along with the trivial little theme, fake fangs plastered against his canines, long enough to poke out from under his top lip teasingly. While it would have been easy to use his own fangs to look the part, transitioning into a more feral state was much more dangerous that anything else. North didn't particularly care should he paint the dance floor red, but... The Military certainly would. Cape flowing behind him as he walks, North doesn't even hesitate as he walks through the front door and into the dark club, the music thrumming along with his heartbeat. The smell of humans is overwhelming.

A playful smirk playing at the edges of his lips, North makes his way to the bar, where he promptly orders himself a vodka. For the meantime, North was content to hide in the shadows — to lay in wait for his prey. Little did he know how the night was about to turn his world upside down.

Leo thought this viciously as he tipped back another rush of brandy. It was a biting brandy of cheap quality, but that was to be expected in a place where the once-white paint was peeling off rotted walls and the furniture was blackened by century-old cigarette burns.

The King of Diamonds, now situated in a cozy position in one of the most influential white collar gangs in the Citadel, preferred not to venture out of its cushy borders. Only when business bade him to did he wander from the Casino District. When he was younger, adventure called to him like some alluring siren, treacherous in its promises. Now he preferred to watch the chaos from the sprawling, red carpeted-and-marble floored penthouse suite atop his very own casino, the neon lights of which would bath the dark streets in shades of gaudy pinks and greens.

His fingers tapped the old, dusted countertop anxiously. His azure blue eyes flashed systematically from the bartender, scrubbing mugs with a suspiciously unclean rag, to the front door, to the back door, before sweeping over the perimeter of the dining space. It was moderately full, enough so that Leo could blend into the crowd, as much as a well-dressed, gelled-up businessman could in a sordid bar.

His gaze slid to where his bodyguard, a man younger in him in both mind and years named Cal, sat beside him. Cal certainly was not as on edge as Leo, as the man began chatting away with a brunette definitely older than the Diamond King. The corner of his mouth twisted in displeasure and Leo delivered a sharp kick to Cal's shins beneath the bar. It seemingly did not hurt the other, but earned Leo an annoyed look.
"Foolishness and youth go together like wine and cheese, so I'll let you off with a warning. Chat, drink, fuck all you want. But remember what we pay you for."
The surprised and embarrassed look on Cal's face did little assuage Leo's continuedly sour mood and he threw back the rest of his brandy in a huff.
